Gurdon Charlene Diggs, age 79, of Gurdon, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born May 6, 1927, in Curtis the daughter of the late James Richard & Laura Belle Legate Curtis. She was a greeter at Wal-Mart for many years and a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee & Luther Curtis. Two sisters, Alice Francis & Ida Belle McLendon. Survived by two daughters, Donna Pierce, of Arkadelphia, Shirley Williams, of Gurdon; Three grandchildren, Keith Perkins & his wife Rachel, Alicia Benson & her husband Daniel and Cynamon Pierce; great-grandchildren, Alex & Mika Perkins. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 9, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Newsom officiating. Interment will be in Southfork Cemetery near Gurdon.
