Carl Edmond Maxwell, age 83, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.  He was born March 2, 1933 in Tulsa , OK , the son of the late Sam and Marzena Holland Maxwell.  Carl was a retired maintenance worker for the Prescott hospital.  He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war.  Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing dominos in his free time.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Maxwell.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret Sue Hutcherson Maxwell of Gurdon, three sons, Carl Maxwell Jr. of Fort Smith , James (Debra) Maxwell of Gurdon and Gene Maxwell of Prescott , two daughters, Carol (Allen) Western of Russellville, and Terrie Plyler of Hot Springs , one sister, Kathleen Marsh of Stillwell , OK , three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2017 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Delight with Rev. Mike Black officiating.

Interment will be in Delight Cemetery .

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Welch Funeral Home.
