Sparkman Bobbie Jean Mason, age 77, of Sparkman, died Saturday, August 26, 2006, at St. Josephs Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born March 20, 1929, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin & Mattie Sunbeam Rucker Welch. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She was preceded in death by one son Danny Vargus & one daughter Deborah Johnson. Survivors are her husband, David Mason of Sparkman, one son Kenneth Mason of Sparkman, four daughters Donna Rucker of Sparkman, Vicki Alcorn of Hayword, CA., Rebecca Vargas & Tammy Whittington of Camden, one brother Franklin Welch of Roseville, CA, seventeen grandchildren & thirty one great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
