Obituary

Bobbie Jean Smith Hubanks, 73, of Arkadelphia, AR, succumbed to cancer on September 1, 2011. She spent her last days in peace in Jacksonville, FL, with family by her side. A cup of coffee and a butter biscuit was all that was needed to provide her with the care-giving mentality and functionality of an angel. Whether it be her brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, grandchildren, or her dogs, those around her could feel the endless love she provided. Her beauty, will power and compassion were as boundless as the oceans are deep. She is predeceased by her parents, Vance Smith SR and Ruth Joslin Smith; her husband, Marvin Bud Hubanks; two sons, Jackie Scott and Robert Brown, Jr.; a grandson, Cody Blue Ingle; three brothers, Carl, R.V. , and James Pete Smith; three sisters, Darnell Collins, Annie Lee Hickman, and Barbara Marion. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: four children, Lisa (Mark) Kilcrease of Jacksonville, FL, Greg Brown of Arkadelphia, AR, Rochelle Norried of Malvern, AR, Ellen Brown-Collins of Sellers, SC; her step-daughter, Karrie Wansley of Troutville, VA, her step-son, Marvin P. Hubanks of Pine Bluff; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Otts McKaskle, Freddie (J.R.) Otts, Jr., Paige Collins, Danny Collins, Jr., William Collins, Tuesday Collins, Tyler Stringfellow, Courtney Stringfellow, Christen Brown, Shane Brown, Heather Hubanks Terry, and Ciara Wansley; her five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hartwick, Kelly Collins, Troy McKaskle, Trey McKaskle, and Trace Otts; five brothers, Earl, Vance Jr., Freddy, Mickey, and Smokey James Smith; two sisters, Ruth Fulmer and Lois Jean Kinnard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be especially missed by her pets, Daisy and Shelly Rose a/k/a Acorn. Family and friends will gather from 6-8 pm on Saturday at Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at Third Street Baptist Church, Sunday, September 4, 2011, at 2:00 PM with Chad Cox and Temon Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
