Birdie Hathcoat McKin, age 81, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born March 23, 1927, in DeAnn, the daughter of the late Lighe & Nettie Clark. Birdie was a homemaker, a loving mother, and friend to everyone she met. She was a member of Curtis Assembly of God Church. Birdie was a deeply religious person who provided lifelong support to her family and friends, and took much pleasure in their accomplishments. Her family was her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, M.G. Hathcoat; her second husband, Pete McKin; an infant daughter, Virginia Hathcoat; grandson, Joe Hathcoat; and three sisters.

Survivors are three sons, David Hathcoat (Cathy) of Arkadelphia; Danny Hathcoat (Peggy) & Leon Hathcoat (Pam) of Gurdon; Four daughters, Joyce Helms (Robert) of Arkadelphia; Rita Roe (Danny) & Wonda Clark (Dickie Don) of Gurdon; Betty Calley (Randy) of Sapula, OK; two step sons, Charles McKin (Diane) of Gurdon; Dennis McKin (Susie) of Arkadelphia; 28 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn Jones & Gail Scoggins of Texarkana; two brothers, Dale Clark of Texarkana & Jimmy Warford of Springdale.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Welch Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Black officiating. Interment in Snell Cemetery at Emmett. Visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday.

The family will be at the home of Joyce Helms, 338 Echols Rd Arkadelphia, AR.
