Beverly Jo Griffin Calley's Obituary
Beverly Jo Calley, age 84, of Seaford, DE, formerly of Gurdon, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Beverly was born in Clark County, AR on January 5, 1937 to Ruth Merideth Griffin and Columbus Garland Griffin.
Beverly was a talented floral designer, and worked until she was 65. She then filled her days at the Gurdon Elementary School as a Foster Grandparent where she worked with special needs children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gurdon. Beverly enjoyed working in her yard, making crafts and floral designs in her spare time. She also loved country music and dancing! She never met a stranger and made those around her feel as though they had always known her. She was a child at heart and you could always find her wherever the children were.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Griffin Stricklin. She is survived by one daughter, Christi Calley Culp (Joe Charles) of Seaford, DE, two sons, Randy Calley (Betty) of Sapulpa, OK and Jeffrey Calley of Rogers, AR, seven grandchildren, Merideth Colp, Amy Nollette, Matthew Culp, Amanda Shoemaker, Andrea Henshaw, Columbus J. Calley and Bryer Calley, and eleven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 19, 2021, at South Fork Cemetery in Gurdon with Bro. Mike Taylor officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Pallbearers are Matthew Culp, CJ Calley, Bryer Calley, Ben Shoemaker, Mark Shoemaker, Billy Henshaw, Kevin Nollette and Scottie Stricklin.
