Martha Elizabeth (Betty) Lowdermilk Young, age 84, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born October 19, 1923, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late J.B. & Flora Agnes Currie Lowdermilk. Betty graduated from Arkadelphia High School and Henderson State Teacher s College (B.A.1946) and then joined the Flight Stewardess Corps of American Airlines. She married Daniel B.B. Young Sr. in February 1949 and they lived in California for many years, returning to Arkadelphia in 1977. Betty is survived by her husband Daniel B.B. Young Sr. of Arkadelphia, one son Daniel B.B. Young Jr. of California, one step daughter Valerie Jean Baird of Idaho, one step granddaughter Laura Alisanne of Washington, nephew, Duvall Hecht and family of California, several nieces, nephews and special friends.
