Barbara Ann "Wendy" Longley-Cook passed away at her home in Caddo Valley, Arkansas, on January 10, 2025, at 82  years old. Her daughter Tracy was at her side. Born and raised just outside of Boston, Massachusetts, Wendy pursued an impressive academic journey. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Simmons College in 1964, followed by a Master of Science in Physics from Cornell University in 1966. Her passion for learning led her to the University of Arizona, where she completed an Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Engineering in 1971. Later, she achieved a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara School of Law in 1976.

Wendy's professional career was as diverse as her education. After completing graduate school, she worked at  Brookhaven National Laboratory in Long Island, New York, and later as a contracted employee for the U.S. Navy in Coronado, California. She found great camaraderie and friendship with many colleagues who she loved working with over the years. She found joy at her home on the Ouachita River relaxing with her cherished animals and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harry Norman, and her brother Raymond Norman.  Her remarkable life touched many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, support, and innumerable valuable  accomplishments. She will always be dearly missed by her community of friends and family. May her memory bring grace and comfort to all who knew her.
