Austin Junior "A.J." Wilson, age 86, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on July 25, 1924 in Caddo Gap, the son of the late Austin M. and Fannie Burnett Wilson. A.J. owned and operated Wilson Salvage Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna May Wilson, four sons, one daughter and two great grandchildren. A.J. is survived by his children and their spouses, Richard and Amy Wilson of White Hall, Jimmy and Pat Wilson of Shepard, TX, Fanie Lou Murchison of Houston, TX, Mae and Mickey Taylor of Commanche, TX, Core and Milan Gallander of Braley, Ruby Deaton of Bismarck, Liz and Anthony Quinnie of Delight, Brenda and William Hammonds of Gurdon, Ray Easley of Ola, Wayne & Tommy Easley of Joshua, TX, Rita Easley of Gurdon and Bobby Easley of Camden, thirty-eight grandchildren, seventy-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Easley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday evening at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Randy Owen, Aaron Sheets, Randal Glover, Brandon Glover, Terry Bowen and Fred Bowen.
