Audrey Mae Dennis Long, age 83, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born November 9, 1925, in Petrolia, TX, the daughter of the late Rev. George Robert & Florence Mae Gwin Slagle. Audrey was a retired stewardess for United Airlines and a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, reading and was an animal lover. Audrey was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Henry Dennis, two brothers, Meryl & Robert Slagle and her sister, Leona Allison.

Survivors are her husband Loren Lowell Long of Gurdon, two daughters, Regina Lee Dennis of Minden, LA & Johanna Mae Kite & her husband Gary of Arlington, TX, two sons, David Anthony Dennis of Denver, CO & Walter Joseph Dennis of Gurdon, one sister in law, Marjorie Slagle of San Angelo, TX, one nephew, Robert Allison of Kennedale, TX, one grandson, John Ray Kite & his wife Melissa of Arlington, TX and four nieces, Shelley, Suzanne, Sharon and Sheri.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, TX with Rev. Brian Young officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Davis Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth, TX.

Memorials may be made to the Clark County Humane Society or the Tarrant County Humane Society.
