Arthur Malcom Gaedecke, age 97, of Okolona, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 24, 1917 in Azalea, OR, the son of the late Henry Augustus and Elnora Cheney Gaedecke. Arthur was a retired logger, a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served in World War II. Arthur was preceded in death by his son, Paul Gaedecke, three sisters, Inez Smith, Florence Lapp and Bernice Smith and two brothers, Fred and Vernon Gaedecke. Arthur is survived by his wife, Paula Gaedecke of Okolona, his daughter, Esther Gaedecke of Myrtle Creek, OR, his son, John (Debra) Gaedecke of Riddle, OR, two grandchildren, Michael Adams Gaedecke and Candy Dawn Gaedecke, both of Riddle, OR and two great grandchildren, Maxamillian and Ronin Uldin Gaedecke. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Kingdom Hall in Caddo Valley. Final arrangements are entrusted to the Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
