Anna Lea Shipp McGuirt, age 72, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs. She was born December 19, 1941 at Cave-In-Rock, IL the daughter of the late Jackson Raney and Florence Irene Covet Shipp. Anna was a homemaker, a United States Army Veteran and a member of Faith Chapel in Texarkana. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Carter and Melita Walker, and three brothers, Jim, Freeman and Truman Shipp. Anna is survived by her husband of fifty four years, Johnny McGuirt of Gurdon, two daughters, Rebecca McGuirt of Kansas City, KS, and Cindi McLean of Texarkana, TX, one granddaughter, Candace Sarantos of Texarkana, TX, and one great grandchild, Kyler Tucker of Texarkana, TX. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Rome Cemetery near Okolona with Bros. Chris Williams and Randy Smith officiating.
