Anita Louise Gonzales Godwin, age 76, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Bismarck, passed from this life on Monday, March 9, 2020 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs.  She was born July 8, 1943 in Santa Barbara, CA, the daughter of the late Leandro and Anita Nieto Gonzales.  Annie was the retired office manager of South Central Electric Co-op.  She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Annie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jake Godwin.

Survivors are her son, Jay Godwin of Arkadelphia, her daughter, Tara Shepherd of Bismarck, five grandchildren, Cooper Davis, Shawnee Shepherd, Dakota Godwin, Colin Shepherd and Jenna Keeling, one great grandchild, Easton Shepherd, three brothers, Benny, Jerry and Patrick Gonzales, and three sisters, Sally Pidzer, Lucille Spikes and Martha Chan.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday March 17 2020, with Father Samy Madhichettyirud officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Welch Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be recited at  5:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Hot Springs.
