Imogene Place Corum Tarkington joined a number of her friends and many of her family members in death on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Fort Worth, Texas. A life-long homemaker, Imogene took enormous pride in her family. Preceding her in death were Lee Corum, her husband of twenty years and Doyle Tarkington, her husband of twenty-nine years. She is survived by two daughters who returned the love instilled that assured their growth, strength and character: Margaret Corum Johnson of Fort Worth and Denise Corum Corn of Arkadelphia; two grandsons: Brett Blackwood of Granbury, Texas and Heath Corn of Fort Worth; supportive and loving sons-in-law, Allan Johnson and Larry Corn. In her latter years, laughter and children returned to her life again through her great-grandsons, Cory and Brandon Blackwood. All brought richness to a life filled with blessings. All of us will miss her quick wit and humor though we know that today she laughs with the Saints among whom are her cherished granddaughters, Tracy and Page Blackwood. Those who bear her today are Brett Blackwood, Heath Corn, Larry Corn, Allan Johnson, and two of her dearest friends, Paul Quattlebaum and Aaron McCray. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:00 PM at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia before a graveside service with the Rev. Ronnie Hardin officiating at Ouachita Cemetery in Donaldson, AR at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Please join as as we return her to the embrace of God, or offer a donation in honor of her memory to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
