Allen Dewitt Scott, age 74, of Norman, passed from this life on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at his home. He was born October 31, 1935, in Forester, AR, the son of the late Joseph Leonard & Mabel Gertrude Walston Scott. Allen was a retired truck driver for Barksdale & Bean Lumber Companies, a United States Army veteran and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer Scott. Allen is survived by his wife Lula Faye Webb Scott of the home, one son Joseph Allen Scott & his wife Amy of Sedalia, MO, one sister Virginia Farmer of Irvington, AL, two brothers Darrell Scott of Lodi, CA & Jerry Scott of Norman. Five grandchildren Jennifer, Kelly, Katie, Trey & Sophia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Owley Cemetery near Mt. Ida with Rev. Lloyd Baumgardner officiating. No visitation is planned. Pallbearers are David Davis, Tommy Cogburn, Johnny Barksdale, Jerry D. Scott, Terry Scott & Jeffery Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are Deloise Cogburn, Tim Bean, Dr. David Brown & Staff, Dr. Divers and Genese Cancer Center & Hospice nurses Kim Gould & Helen Perkins.
